The Longest Day

Sunday 2nd/Monday 3rd November. Five of us left Le Meridien on time at 1500 for the coach trip to Delhi. The journey wasn't as bad as I had anticipated as the road was quite good. The only hold ups were due to the amount of lorries on the road. The law states that heavy goods vehicles cannot enter Delhi until 9pm because of the conjestion there, so if they are early they park-up anywhere along the road sometimes causing traffic jams.
We arrived in Delhi about 8pm and went to a very nice restaurant for a meal, taking our time over it as we were very early for the plane.
We checked in with no problems at around midnight and then had to spend nearly three hours sitting in the airport. There was nothing to do there - no coffee shops, and only one duty free shop which was very small and sold very little. Time dragged somewhat.
I had a comfortable seat on the plane in Premium Economy (no upgrade this time). But as per usual on an aeroplane, I didn't sleep much, just cat-napped. Breakfast (curry) was served around 0600 and we landed on time at around 0715. A car was there to meet me and I arrived home just before 0900, feeling a bit spaced out.
I lasted until around 5pm, pottering about unpacking etc, then I thought I would have an hour's snooze, then get up for the evening. Not so! I awoke (or tried to) at 7pm, but was so sleepy I just climbed into bed and slept for 12 hours.
